On the weekend of February 1st, the Hask Team embarked on an exciting journey to the picturesque region of Dorset, where they had the unique opportunity to train alongside esteemed international masters and dedicated students of TYGA Martial Arts. This event was particularly special as it featured the renowned Grand Master Gary Wasniewski, whose expertise and guidance are highly sought after in the martial arts community.

As the weekend commenced, most of the guests arrived on Friday evening, filled with anticipation for the training sessions ahead. The atmosphere was lively as everyone gathered to enjoy local cuisine at nearby restaurants, sharing hearty meals that not only nourished their bodies but also fostered camaraderie. The evening was a delightful mix of laughter, stories, and catching up with friends, creating a warm and welcoming environment that set the tone for the days to come.

Saturday morning greeted the team with a chilly breeze, but spirits were high as everyone prepared for the first training session in the expansive fields. The session began with a focus on essential training techniques, including the fundamentals of martial arts, various kata forms, and concluded with an exhilarating short speed competition that tested the agility and skills of the participants. After a quick breakfast, the team set off to their second training location, the majestic CROFTE Castle, which offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including sheep grazing peacefully on the hills. Training continued with an emphasis on sparring and kata, allowing participants to refine their techniques in a stunning setting.

The third training session took place just ten minutes away from the castle, atop a hill that provided an awe-inspiring panoramic view. Despite the windy conditions and a few drops of rain, the team persevered, engaging in vigorous sparring and kata practice that showcased their dedication and resilience. After an intense morning of training, it was time to return to the hostel for a well-deserved lunch, where everyone could recharge and reflect on the morning's activities.

After lunch, the atmosphere shifted to one of celebration as nominations and awards were presented. Notably, several TYGA Masters were promoted to the esteemed ranks of 8th and 9th Dan Black Belts, a testament to their hard work and commitment to martial arts. Additionally, HASK headteacher Daz Stirrat received a nomination for the prestigious 8th Dan Black Belt, recognizing his contributions and dedication to the martial arts community. The fourth training session took place at Lulworth Beach, where the team enjoyed the unique training environment of sand, wind, and stunning coastal views. The session included kata, sparring, and a quick competition, pushing everyone to give their best. Following the intense training, some adventurous team members decided to take a refreshing evening swim in the sea, embracing the invigorating chill of the ocean.

As the day came to a close, participants were treated to a beautiful dinner at a local pub, where they could unwind and share stories from their day’s adventures. The combination of hard work and enjoyment made for an unforgettable experience.

Sunday began bright and early with a training session set in a beautiful field, bathed in the warm rays of the sun. The atmosphere was invigorating, and the team engaged in kata, sparring, and self-defense techniques, honing their skills in a serene and uplifting environment. The final moments of the course were marked by an important ceremony where junior black belts and lower belt students underwent grading, showcasing their progress and achievements throughout the training.

This remarkable event was not only a weekend filled with knowledge, skill development, and fun but also an opportunity for the Hask Team to learn from seasoned masters and assist others in their martial arts journeys. The experience was enriching, and there was a unanimous sentiment that everyone was eager to return next year to further their learning and growth in this dynamic martial arts community.
